How we calculated the numbers in our Medicare "side door" op-ed

Each row shows a number from the op-ed, where the data came from, and the math. SOURCE marks public CMS data. CALCULATED marks numbers Carelytics worked out from that data.

Carelytics chart: year-over-year enrollment growth by part of Medicare, January 2023 to September 2026 (June 2026 for Medicare-wide totals). C-SNP growth rises to about 70 percent in 2025 and is 34 percent in September 2026; Medicare Advantage outside special needs plans falls to about zero; Original Medicare rises from about -2.5 to +1.4 percent.
